I wanna be your vacuum cleaner, breathing in your dust.

Its very rare that I find an album that excites me to the point where even weeks after having it on repeat I'm still not bored. Mumford and Sons' Sigh No More, was the last album to really have that effect on me. I can still listen to that album, and it reminds me of so much related to the time of when I first got into Mumford and Sons.
This year however, I have fallen head over heels with Arctic Monkeys' AM. If not obvious from the title. I have always been a fan of AM, but something totally blew me away with this album. At first listen I wasn't all that bothered, but once I began to listen again, I realised this wasn't just another makeshift effort seen by other artists of this generation.
The obvious standout track is 'Do I Wanna Know?', which is utter sultry perfection. The lyrics, the guitar, total intoxication within music.
Another standout track, 'No.1 Part Anthem', sublimely smooth. 'You're on the prowl, wondering whether she left already or not'. I wonder if this is about a certain Miss Chung?
I have to mention, 'I Wanna Be Yours'. The lyrics are, in Turner fashion, somewhat thought provoking. The use of everyday objects, ie 'I wanna be your ford cortina, I will never rust' add a almost realistic twist to the idealistic portrayal of love presented in the song.

This album, for me, has to be one of the best albums of 2013.  It's sultry, prominent, thought provoking, smooth and perfect. Need I say anymore?

You're So Fine, I'm Glad You're Mine.

So its been a while. I've never been very good at posting regularly! I'm back to my book - which leads me to Fats Domino - This is Fats (1956). Still in the 50's, and loving it.
This 'early rock n roll album' is so easy to listen to and has been the perfect accompaniment to my afternoon pottering at home. It's believed that Fats was a major part of merging R&B and Rock n Roll together - but has been disputed by many.
The blend of the ever so catchy 'La La' mixed with the more woeful 'So Long' makes this album a perfect mix full of rock n roll classics. Plus his smiley face is rather infectious.

The King of Swing

Louis Prima - The Wildest!

So I'm falling in love with 50's music..
This album was so much fun to listen to. Like Sinatra it has such a magical quality about it. Totally carefree and lighthearted, I almost want to grab an umbrella and dance around, almost. Described as the 'King of Swingers', often his voice has been likened to Louis Armstrong, with it's raspy sound. He was not only a trumpet player/songwriter, but an actor too and had bags of personality.
Another album I am happy to have been acquainted with!

I can feel your heart

As always, I like to share my 'current obsessions'/guilty pleasure of the moment. I admit I have several tracks I CANNOT go a day (or admittedly a few hours..) without listening to.
Firstly,
TOM ODELL
Odell played live at the Burberry A/W 13 show this year and that's when it all began..
This song + Burberry's finest = A very content Crissie.

Enjoy!x

The discovery that has made my average day so much brighter...

Evening..
I'll admit I'm mid-work session, and on my 'small' break I discovered @watchlistentell (fatal) and the songs so far have made my ears extremely happy so I could not resist in sharing..
The set-up reminds me somewhat of Burberry Acoustic, which if you've read my previous posts, you'll know I have quite an obsession with. So the discovery of a second channel that holds the same promise has put me in what I can only describe as an excited frenzy.

I've been obsessively listening to Bastille recently, especially Pompeii, which is just divine on all levels. As he does a video for WLT, I just HAD to share, plus the list of amazing Artists is endless, Stornoway, TDCC, Daughter...

This discovery makes me beyond happy..

So, here's a few video links, hope you enjoy as much as I do!

Bastille - Overjoyed

Daughter - Medicine

A cold sweat hot headed believer

I have another song to share with you today - feeling inspired!
Normally I'm not a huge Rihanna fan, I find her music rather repetitive etc, but I can see why people like her.. (not beefing) But this song isn't really like her usual stuff, so that's probably why I like it, plus I love how raw it is.

Anyways, I was shopping the other week and this song came on and was the perfect accompaniment to my thoughtful mood. I can picture exactly in my mind visually how this song could be portrayed, and I love it when that happens after listening to a song.
The song is 'Stay' by Rihanna ft Mikky Ekko

Hope you like it

You, you enchant me, even when you're not around

Every now and then I come across a song that is extra special, and for me Kodaline's cover of Disclosure's 'Latch', is one of them. There's something about his voice and the lyrics that just fits perfectly and made me stop in my tracks and just listen in awe for 4 minutes.
Since that very first listen, I have repeated it constantly. So seen as its so amazing, I thought I'd share it with you.

Enjoy and happy Saturday
